Chairman’s statement

1st, September,2021

The EGC was established in September 2015 to promote energy system reforms, including the full deregulation of the electric and gas markets.

As the “guardian” of appropriate competition, the EGC has been vigorously working on the establishment of guidelines and other rules as well as strict monitoring.

We have also been working to ensure the liquidity of the energy market and to develop the base of competition.

We will continue our efforts to encourage the use of the wholesale market and further ensure neutrality through the unbundling of transmission and distribution networks.

We will also develop and review various systems, such as an efficient and stable balancing market and incentives to promote efficient use of networks, taking into account technological innovations such as the expansion of renewable energy and demand-side initiatives.
